If you list the same products on Amazon, Shopify, Etsy, eBay, Daraz and TikTok Shop, you are juggling six sets of image rules: different pixel sizes, aspect ratios, background expectations, formats and file-size caps. The Marketplace Preset Resizer stores those rules in one dropdown. Pad keeps the entire photo and fills the leftover space with the preset's background colour, which is what square product grids want. Cover scales and centre-crops to the exact ratio, which is right for banners, hero slides and 4:3 Etsy thumbnails. Where a platform enforces a byte cap, such as Daraz at 3 MB, the resizer runs an extra compression pass so the output actually uploads.

Why it matters

Etsy crops every listing thumbnail to 4:3 and wants at least 2000 px on the shortest side; a square upload gets its top and bottom sliced off in search results.
Daraz rejects files over 3 MB and expects square, white-background images between 330×330 and 3000×3000 px.
TikTok Shop only accepts squares between 600 and 4000 px, under 5 MB, with a clean white first image.
Shopify serves resized copies itself, but a consistent 1:1 ratio across products is what keeps collection grids aligned; it accepts up to 4472×4472 and 20 MB.
eBay needs 500 px minimum and 1600 px for zoom, with a 12 MB cap and up to 24 photos per listing.

Tips

Always start from the largest, cleanest original. Resizing a 4000 px master down to every preset beats enlarging a 900 px image.

Frequently asked questions

Which preset should I pick for Shopify product photos?

Use "Product image 2048×2048". It pads to a square on white, which keeps collection grids aligned and is the recommended Shopify size. Shopify then generates the smaller copies it needs. Choose the WebP variant if you also want a lighter version for your own theme sections.

Why is my Etsy photo cropped?

The Etsy presets use cover fit at 4:3 (2000×1500 or 3000×2250) because Etsy crops search thumbnails to that ratio. Cropping here lets you see exactly what shoppers will see. If you need the whole image, pick "Square listing photo 2000×2000", which pads instead.

Does the Daraz preset really keep files under 3 MB?

Yes. The Daraz presets carry a 3 MB limit, and after resizing the tool re-encodes the JPEG at progressively lower quality until the file fits. A 1000×1000 or 2000×2000 product shot normally lands well under 1 MB anyway.

Can I process photos for two marketplaces in one go?

Not in a single run; each run applies one platform preset. Keep the originals in the upload list, download the ZIP, then switch the dropdown to the next platform and download again. The batch re-processes automatically when the preset changes.

What happens if my photo is smaller than the preset?

It is enlarged to the preset dimensions so the marketplace minimum-size check passes, but no detail is added. For Amazon and eBay zoom, or the Etsy 2000 px minimum, a small source will look soft; use the biggest original you have.
