A QR code for your packaging, shop and reviews

A printed link is useless; nobody types a URL off a box. A QR code on a packaging insert, a thank-you card, a shop sign or a business card turns that link into a two-second scan. The QR Code Generator builds codes for URLs, plain text, WhatsApp chats, email, phone numbers, SMS, vCard contacts and WiFi logins, lets you style them with colours, rounded modules and a centre logo, and exports PNG or SVG for print.

How it works

1. Choose a content type. For WhatsApp, enter your number with country code and an optional pre-filled message; the tool builds the wa.me link. For vCard, fill in name, phone, email, company and website. For WiFi, enter network name, password and security type.
2. Type the content. A counter shows the QR version and module count growing as you add characters.
3. Style it: foreground and background colours, square or rounded modules, corner eye shape, quiet zone width, and an optional logo dropped into the centre.
4. Set the error correction level: L (7% damage tolerance), M (15%), Q (25%) or H (30%). Adding a logo switches to H automatically so the covered modules can be recovered.
5. Test the live preview with your phone camera, then download PNG at 256 to 4096 px or a scalable SVG.

Why it matters

• A QR code holds up to 4,296 alphanumeric characters, but scanning gets harder as it grows. A 30-character URL fits in version 2 or 3 (25×25 or 29×29 modules) and scans from across a room; a 300-character vCard at level H needs version 18 (89×89 modules) and must be printed larger.
• Print size rule of thumb: the code should be at least one tenth of the scanning distance. A 2 cm code scans from 20 cm, fine for an insert card; a shop window code read from 1 m should be 10 cm.
• Keep the quiet zone. The specification requires a blank margin of four modules around the code; cropping it is the most common reason a printed code fails.
• Marketplace rules: Amazon allows inserts that ask for a review neutrally but forbids incentives or diverting buyers to another site. Etsy sellers commonly link to a care guide or their shop's follow page. A WhatsApp QR code on a Daraz or Shopify parcel opens a direct support chat.

Tips

• Dark modules on a light background, always. Inverted codes fail on many older scanners.
• Keep the logo under 20% of the code area and leave error correction on H for a QR code with logo.
• Export SVG for anything going to a printer so the code stays sharp at any size; use PNG for web and social.

Privacy

Your images never leave your browser and neither does your data. The code is computed on your device, so phone numbers, WiFi passwords and contact details are never sent to a server, and there is no tracking redirect: the code contains your link directly and keeps working forever.
