Amazon Product Image Resizer
Resize product photos to Amazon's 2000×2000, 1600×1600 or 1000×1000 requirements with a pure white background. Bulk, free, runs in your browser.
How to use the Amazon Product Image Resizer
- 1Drop your product photos (JPG, PNG, HEIC or WebP) into the upload area.
- 2Choose an output size: 2000×2000 (recommended), 1600×1600, 1000×1000 or 3000×3000.
- 3Pick "Keep whole image" to pad or "Crop to fill" to centre-crop, and leave the pure white background on.
- 4Adjust the margin and JPG quality if needed; results re-render automatically.
- 5Download single images or the whole batch as a ZIP.
Amazon main images must be square, pure white and at least 1000 px
Amazon quietly suppresses listings whose main image breaks its rules, and the failures are usually mundane: a 4:3 phone photo that is not square, a studio backdrop that is almost-white rather than pure white, or a supplier image that is only 800 px wide so the zoom feature never switches on. The Amazon Product Image Resizer fixes all three in one pass. Drop in a folder of product photos and get back square JPGs at 2000×2000 with a forced #FFFFFF background, ready for Seller Central.
How it works
- Choose an output size. 2000×2000 is the recommended default. 1600×1600 and 1000×1000 (the minimum that still enables zoom) suit lighter listings, and 3000×3000 is there for very detailed sources.
- Pick a fit mode. Keep whole image pads the photo to a square without cropping. Crop to fill centre-crops so the product runs edge to edge.
- Leave "Force pure white background" on. Padding is filled with RGB 255, 255, 255, not the near-white grey many editors default to. Switch it off only for secondary images where a custom padding colour is wanted.
- Set a margin (0–15%) if the product touches the frame, then choose JPG with a quality slider or PNG.
Each image is processed in a Web Worker as it lands, and the batch re-renders when an option changes. Files come back named like red-sneaker-amazon-2000.jpg, and one click downloads the lot as a ZIP.
Why the numbers matter
| Amazon rule | Value |
|---|---|
| Main image background | Pure white, RGB 255, 255, 255 |
| Longest side for zoom | At least 1000 px; 2000 px recommended |
| Maximum longest side | 10,000 px |
| Maximum file size | 10 MB |
| Product fill on the main image | At least 85% of the frame |
| Accepted formats | JPEG (preferred), PNG, non-animated GIF, TIFF |
Zoom is the rule that costs sales. Shoppers hover to inspect stitching, texture and labels; if the amazon product image size is under 1000 px on the longest side the zoom simply does not appear. Going to amazon 2000x2000 gives enough pixels for crisp zoom on desktop and retina phones while the JPG stays around a few hundred KB.
The 85% fill rule is why the margin slider stops at 15%. Padding a tall bottle into a square already leaves white space left and right, so add extra margin sparingly.
Tips for cleaner results
- Shot on grey or coloured paper? Run the photo through the Background Remover first, then resize here; the transparent cut-out is composited onto pure white automatically.
- Use Crop to fill for lifestyle and secondary images and Keep whole image for the main shot, so nothing important is trimmed.
- Do not pick 3000×3000 for a 1200 px source. The tool will upscale, but it cannot invent detail; stay at 2000 or lower.
- Selling on more than one channel? The Marketplace Preset Resizer applies the matching Shopify, eBay, Etsy and Daraz presets from the same originals, and the Bulk Image Resizer covers any custom size.
- Before uploading, drop the folder into the Image Dimension & Size Checker with the Amazon rule set selected to confirm every file passes.
For the full rule list, including the ban on text, logos and props on the main image, read the Amazon product image requirements guide or the Amazon platform page.
Your photos stay on your device
This amazon image resizer runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API and Web Workers. Your images never leave your browser: nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and unreleased product shots stay confidential. It even works offline once the page has loaded.
Frequently asked questions
Which preset should I use for the Amazon main image?
Use 2000×2000. Amazon needs at least 1000 px on the longest side to enable zoom and recommends 2000 px, and a square 2000 px JPG at 92% quality is typically 300–600 KB, far under the 10 MB limit. Pick 1000×1000 only when the source photo is small.
Does the "Keep whole image" mode break the 85% fill rule?
It can if the product is small in the original. Padding never crops, so a tall bottle in a square frame leaves white space either side. Keep the margin slider at 0–5%, or crop tighter with the Image Cropper first so the product occupies most of the frame before padding.
My background already looks white. Why force pure white?
Camera sensors and studio lights usually render white paper as a light grey such as RGB 245, 245, 245. Amazon checks for pure RGB 255, 255, 255 on main images. The toggle guarantees the padded area is pure white; for the photo itself, remove the background first if it is visibly grey.
Can I output PNG instead of JPG?
Yes. Choose PNG under Format and the padding is still rendered as solid white, since Amazon does not accept transparency on main images. JPG is preferred because a 2000×2000 PNG of a photo can be 5–8 MB, while the JPG is usually under 1 MB.
Will small supplier images be upscaled?
Yes. The tool always outputs the exact preset size, so an 800 px image becomes 2000 px by interpolation. That satisfies the dimension check but will look soft when zoomed. Ask the supplier for originals, or choose the 1000×1000 preset so the enlargement is smaller.
