Social Media Image Resizer
Resize images for Instagram post/story/reel, Facebook cover/ad, YouTube thumbnail/banner, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X and TikTok in one click. Free, bulk.
How to use the Social Media Image Resizer
- 1Drop one image or a whole folder (up to 200 files).
- 2Tick the presets you need across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X, TikTok and WhatsApp.
- 3Choose a fit mode: Cover, Pad or Blur fill.
- 4Set the output format and quality, then click Resize.
- 5Download each file or everything as one ZIP.
One photo, every social size
Every network wants a different shape. Instagram feed posts are 1080×1080 or 1080×1350, Stories are 1080×1920, a YouTube thumbnail is 1280×720 and a Facebook page cover is 820×312. Resizing the same product shot six times in a photo editor eats an hour per campaign, and it is easy to export the wrong one. The Social Media Image Resizer holds all of those sizes as presets, lets you tick as many as you need, and produces every version in one pass.
How it works
- Drop one image or a whole folder. Batch mode processes up to 200 files.
- Tick the presets you need. They are grouped by network: Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X, TikTok and WhatsApp. Selecting a network header ticks all of its sizes.
- Choose a fit mode. Cover fills the frame and crops the overflow, Pad keeps the whole picture on a solid colour, and Blur fill keeps the whole picture over a blurred, enlarged copy of itself, the look used on many stories.
- Pick output format and quality, then click Resize. Each result is named after the source plus the preset, for example mug-ig-story.jpg.
- Download individually or as one ZIP.
Why it matters
Networks re-encode whatever you upload, and they do it best when the file already matches the display size. Uploading a 4000×3000 photo into a 1080×1350 slot means their servers crop it for you, often straight through the product. Uploading exactly the right size keeps your framing.
| Network | Preset | Pixels |
|---|---|---|
| Square post | 1080×1080 | |
| Portrait post (4:5) | 1080×1350 | |
| Story / Reel cover | 1080×1920 | |
| Feed post | 1200×630 | |
| Page cover | 820×312 | |
| YouTube | Thumbnail | 1280×720 |
| YouTube | Channel banner | 2560×1440 |
| Post image | 1200×627 | |
| Pin (2:3) | 1000×1500 | |
| X / Twitter | Post image | 1600×900 |
| TikTok | Video cover | 1080×1920 |
| Profile photo | 640×640 |
Twenty-one presets are built in. A few numbers worth remembering: the Instagram portrait post size at 4:5 takes up about 25% more screen than a square post, a YouTube thumbnail must be at least 640 px wide and under 2 MB, and a Pinterest pin at 2:3 avoids the cropping that longer pins receive in the feed.
For marketplace listing sizes, such as Amazon's 2000×2000 white main image or Etsy's 2000×1500 listing photo, use the Marketplace Preset Resizer instead. The TikTok Shop 9:16 video cover matches the TikTok preset here exactly.
Tips
- Keep text and logos away from the top and bottom 250 px of story images. Instagram and WhatsApp overlay the profile bar and reply box there.
- For a page cover or channel banner, use Cover fit and check the preview; those are the presets where the crop is most aggressive.
- Use Blur fill for portrait product shots going into a landscape slot, so the whole item shows without plain white bars.
- Add captions or a price after resizing with the Text on Image / Caption Tool, and split a wide image into a swipeable set with the Image Splitter.
- If the automatic crop cuts through the product, crop by hand first with the Image Cropper.
Privacy
Your images never leave your browser. Every resize is done with the Canvas API on your device and the ZIP is built locally, so nothing is uploaded and there is nothing to delete afterwards.
Frequently asked questions
What is the correct Instagram post size?
Square 1080×1080, portrait 1080×1350 (4:5) and landscape 1080×566 are all valid feed sizes; Stories and Reel covers are 1080×1920. Portrait 4:5 takes the most screen space in the feed. All four are presets here, so tick whichever you need and download them together.
What size is a YouTube thumbnail?
1280×720 px at 16:9, which is the YouTube preset here. YouTube requires at least 640 px wide and a file under 2 MB in JPG, PNG or GIF. Export JPG at 85 to 90% quality to stay comfortably inside that limit while keeping any text legible.
What is the Facebook cover size?
A Page cover is 820×312 px on desktop; Facebook shows a narrower centre portion on phones, so keep faces and text in the middle. Event covers are 1920×1005, feed link images 1200×630 and square ads 1080×1080. Each one is a separate preset in the Facebook group.
Can I resize many photos to many sizes at once?
Yes. Drop up to 200 images, tick any number of presets, and the tool produces every combination. Ten photos with five presets gives fifty files, each named with the source filename and the preset, and you can download them all as one ZIP.
Which fit mode should I use?
Cover for photos where cropping the edges is fine, Pad when the whole product must stay visible on a flat colour, and Blur fill when you want the whole image visible with a softer, on-brand background. The preview updates live so you can compare all three before exporting.
