🆚Image Compare / Diff

Did the compressor damage the logo? Did the supplier change the product photo since the sample was approved? Did someone edit your listing image and re-upload it under a hijacked ASIN? Questions like these are impossible to answer by flicking between two tabs. The Image Compare / Diff tool puts two images in one view so you can compare two images side by side, slide one over the other, or find differences between images as a highlighted pixel map with a percentage. It is an image diff tool for people who sell, not just for developers.

How it works

1. Drop or paste two images, A and B. They can differ in format; the tool decodes both to raw pixels.
2. Choose a view: side by side, overlay or diff.
3. Set the diff threshold so tiny JPEG noise is ignored and real changes are not.
4. Zoom into the highlighted areas, and download the diff image if you need to send it to a supplier or a designer.

The three views do different jobs:

• Side by side shows both at the same zoom with linked panning.
• Overlay stacks B on A with a draggable slider, ideal for edits and retouching.
• Diff compares every pixel, paints changed pixels in a highlight colour over a dimmed copy, and reports the percentage of pixels that changed.

If the two images have different dimensions the tool tells you so and scales the smaller one for visual comparison, but the pixel diff is only meaningful on same-size images, which the message makes clear.

Why it matters

Small visual changes carry real money in e-commerce:

• Compression: a JPG at quality 80 versus 92 might look identical at thumbnail size but show ringing around text at 100%. The diff view puts a number on it, so you can pick the smallest file that changes under, say, 1% of pixels, which matters against the Daraz 3 MB and TikTok Shop 5 MB limits.
• Supplier approvals: comparing the approved sample photo with the delivery photo shows a changed label, missing accessory or different shade in seconds.
• Listing hijacks on Amazon: if a main image changed without you, a diff against your original proves what was altered.
• Retouching quality control: an overlay slider on before and after makes over-editing obvious.

Tips

• Compare at the same pixel size. If one image was resized, bring the other to match with the Bulk Image Resizer first.
• Start with a threshold around 10 on the 0 to 255 scale for JPG-to-JPG comparisons and 0 for PNG-to-PNG.
• Use overlay for retouching and side by side for colour; the eye judges colour better with the images apart.
